I.Matters related to diesel engine generator set operation for C Series 100 kVA DG Set 50Hz
1. Manual test machine
Manual start of the C Series 100 kVA DG Set 50Hz: first test that the alarm system is normal, then switch the control switch to the manual (MAN) position, the generator can start by itself. Engine Generator Set manual stop: Turn the control switch to the STOP position or press the red emergency stop button to stop the generator. In an emergency, you can directly press the emergency stop button to force a shutdown. If you press the red emergency stop button, you must return to the original position, otherwise the engine genset will not start.
2. Automatic switching control
Switch the control switch to AUTO, and use it in conjunction with the automatic power switch (ATS) control switch. When the mains is stopped, A·T·S will give the start signal to the generator control system. The generator will start automatically. When the control switch is switched to STOP, or remains at automatic, but the mains has been restored, the ATS will send a stop signal and the generator will automatically stop. Note: When the generator is running automatically shut down due to a fault (over speed, high water temperature, low oil pressure, etc.), after troubleshooting, the fault reset button must be pressed down to prepare for restart.

3.From the above specification we need to check before C Series 100 kVA DG Set 50Hz operation::
① Visual inspection:
Whether the engine is damaged, missing parts, screws, generator output cables or control cables are damaged or loose.
②. Fuel system:
Whether the amount of fuel is sufficient, whether the wiring piping is leaking or the pipe fittings are loose (etc.), remove the air in the fuel system.

4. Please pay attention to the following points during diesel home backup generator for C Series 100 kVA DG Set 50Hz operation:
① AC ammeter: the needle indicates whether it is normal, switch the current switch to measure the phase current value between each phase sequence, the phase difference between each phase sequence should not exceed 10%.
② AC Voltmeter: Whether the voltage indicated by the needle is normal.
③. Whether the oil pressure indicated by the oil pressure gauge is in the normal range.
④ Charging meter: Whether the pointer is in the (+) direction.
⑤ Whether the water temperature indicated by the water temperature gauge is within the normal range of 65℃~ 93℃.
⑥ Tachometer: Whether the number of revolutions of the engine is appropriate. (60Hz is 1800 rpm)
⑦. Whether the genset engine has abnormal sound or vibration.
III. Introduction to common faults:
1. Why does the exhaust pipe sometimes drip oil when the C Series 100 kVA DG Set 50Hz generator load is too low?
Because there are many places in the engine that use pressure seals, such as the cylinder liner-piston-piston ring, and the turbocharger-supercharger rotor shaft, this kind of seal is generally used when the engine has about 1/3 of the load. It is effective, and slight leakage may occur when the load is small. Therefore, foreign dg set manufacturers generally give emphasis in their manuals.
If the unit is running under light load, as the running time continues, the following faults will occur:
①. The piston-cylinder liner is not well sealed, and the oil runs up and enters the combustion chamber to burn, and the exhaust emits blue smoke.
② For supercharged dg set, the supercharging pressure is low due to low load and no load. It is easy to cause the sealing effect of the turbocharger oil seal (non-contact type) to decrease, and the oil rushes into the booster chamber and enters the cylinder with the intake air.
③. Part of the oil moving up to the cylinder participates in the combustion, and part of the oil cannot be completely burned, forming carbon deposits on the valve, intake passage, piston crown, piston ring, etc., and some of it is discharged with the exhaust gas. In this way, oil will gradually accumulate in the exhaust duct of the cylinder liner, and coke will also form.
④. When oil accumulates in the pressurizing chamber of the turbocharger to a certain extent, it will leak from the joint surface of the turbocharger.
⑤ Long-term low-load operation will cause more serious wear and tear of moving parts, deterioration of the engine's combustion environment, and other consequences that lead to the advancement of the overhaul period. Therefore,foreign dg genset manufacturers emphasize whether they use naturally aspirated or supercharged models to minimize low-load/no-load operation time, and stipulate that the minimum load cannot be lower than 25%-30% of the unit's rated power.
